The serial number is 91012223, and it has the patent number under the EVH signature brand. Based on what I know about Peavey Wolfgangs and their serial numbers (which is a LOT-not trying to sound to cocky and/or dorky about it), he's been fed a very incorrect story. This guy claimed this Wolfgang was a prototype and went on and on about how rare it was. Also, prototype/pre-custom custom shop Wolfgangs had serial numbers that started with "1," and many 20 models started with "50" and "51."Ĭheck out this now closed eBay auction, guys. Moreover, I've never seen a Wolfgang with a fourth digit of its serial number higher than "2" (9102****). I've ALWAYS accurately dated my Wolfgangs through Peavey and while those numbers coincidentally work out with a few of them, it doesn't with all of them. I've owned 24 Wolfgangs and worked on many more. Someone was making stuff up (further evidenced by the fact that they called the arch top model a "Standard," which was never an official term used by Peavey-only one adopted by owners). Who knows? I think I will call and offer 400.My patent pending serial # starts with 9100 like yours Brett (Meaning made in 97 or 98) my other wolfgang starts with 9102 and I believe it was made in 2000 so that supports the theory I found on Wiki. I'm torn because I'd like an American one but based on the one we tried, it may be fine. So I've been looking around and found the one above for approx the same price. But, it played great and had a really good sound.prob the nicest playing guitar that we tried that day. We played a similar one at guitar center (a korean one unbeknownst to us) last weekend and almost bought it on the spot (my 14 yr old son was egging me on but I figured I go home and research the value).anyway the guitar center one was pretty rough: lots of dings, worn frets, and dirty fret board. He was interested in learning, bought the guitar new and played it a few times and lost interest.at least that's his story. I spoke with the seller and he is not a guitar player. Thanks for the replies.since my original post, I looked for info on the net and found that this one is a Korean made wolfgang.can't figure out when it was made, but it has all of the Korean features- serial number starts with 02, serial numher is stamped in black ink, quilted top, and single volume knob being the ones that I can spot for the ad and pics.
